I put 5 frames from a nuc into an 8-frame deep on 5/5. The nuc frames are on foundation (don't know what size, large I assume) and have been treated. I put in 3 new foundationless frames. There is a serious flow on here and they have drawn beautiful comb on about 70-90% of the 3 new frames, so I added a medium with 8 new foundationless frames in it.
As a new beek, I'm more than a bit nervous and, frankly, overwhelmed with conflicting information. I have decided to limit myself to this forum for the sake of some hoped-for consistency.
My concern is that since the boxes are different sizes, I couldn't put any of the old frames in it to encourage them to move up there and start using it. So my question is, what should I hope to see by when? What should I be on guard for and what interventions if any should I be prepared for?
I have a 2nd hive in same situation, but about 4 days behind this one...
Thanks,
Wally
