We received a call from a realtor who had witnessed them swarming then landing up in a young tree. She also happened to be a backyard beekeeper but decided they were too high up for her to deal with so she called us.

We packed up our swarm gear and headed out. It was a somewhat challenging capture as it was located high in the tree and it was a bit windy.

During the process we had an audience who were curious and extremely helpful. We couldn't have done it without them. They lent us a ladder, let us use their electrical outlet and blocked off the area we were working in. They also took lots of photos, video and asked tons of questions.

We tried the vacuum method first but the leaves ended up clogging the intake. We ended up cutting the branch w/ the swarm on it and carefully brought it down then hived it.

All and all a fun capture.
