Thanks for the link. My husband and I really enjoyed seeing the moon on Friday and Saturday nights and questioned why it was so big and bright. I am sure the bees would have enjoyed the sight if it wasn't 10 degrees.

Saturday night was the first time in a while that the wind wasn't howling here in Western Maine. Around 11 pm, I glanced out the window at the garden and found "the moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow gave a luster of midday to objects below."

Even though it was just below 0 degrees F. I put on boots, coat and hat and walked out through the garden just to be out in that bright, still night. While I was there, I put my ear to the side of a hive and tapped hello. The night-owls inside buzzed back but thought better than to come out to join me.

It was not quite visible through the storm here that week, but I howled at it anyway, from the protection of the garage! I'll have to wait now for the autumn harvest moon, which I always do enjoy so much.
