I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I've never raised bees before. I have my yard treated for "pests" quarterly as I live in a pretty rural area here in Florida. My question is should I cease treating my yard when I start my hives? I have an empty lot next to mine that I could put the hives on as an option. My wie isn't too keen on stopping the roach control. Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Since we started bees we have stopped any and all forms of pest or weed control. I've heard that diatomaceous earth will work on the ground without hurting the bees since they largely take to the air.
