Was putting in new foundation into wooden frames today. It appears that some small critter had gotten in the minimal space between foundation and wooden wedge. There was evidence of frass. Just wondering if others have observed this or have recommendations on how to keep the wedged foundation pocket more sanitary.

If you are talking used frames it's most likely wax moth debris.Just scrape with a hive tool.Anything you miss will be removed by the bees or entombed in the comb.
Yes, you are probably right. The gap is too small for the bees to clean out. Not sure how effective entombment with propolis is with the wax moth larvae. Aside from using plastic frames, is there any way to keep wax moth larvae out of hiding in the frame pocket of wooden frames?
