In an isolated area, with several (say four to six) hives in which all of the queens are sisters (or half sisters as it were), will the virgin daughters mate with drones from their neighboring hives, which in essence are their nephews, albeit from differing fathers? (Wow! Could that be more unclear?) I live on an island, though I'm aware of a few other colonies here.
