The name ask the question.
I have a hive with 3 capped queen cell. There is no brood. There are no eggs.
How can a capped queen cell emerge later then all the capped brood?
Surely the bees did not make use of the last 3 available eggs in the hive to build these queen cells.
I tore one queen cell down. The larva inside looked more like a drone than a queen. It had big eyes.

I have the same situation.
There are lots of threads here on laying worker hives and some people mentioned that sometimes they will attempt to make a queen from a drone.

Apparently even bees want to get into the gender identity issue. :lookout:
