Most of my colonies seem to have a significantly greater amount of drone brood than I'm used to seeing. Is this a normal thing for this time of year in Florida?
It does seem a little late, even for north Florida. Maybe they are thinking of one last burst of swarming? If it were just one hive I'd say oh it's just a crazy mixed up hive that forgot the season. Any signs of queen cells?
No Queen cells, but most of the colonies were pretty full and I have a strong flow right now so maybe they were thinking they might need to swarm. I just made another round of splits though so all the strong colonies had a couple of frames removed.
