I can't tell for sure looking at the picture but it could be the bees raised some brood there. Can see what looks like pollen. Neither will hurt your honey.
They should have told you dark comb should be good luck .. and it will help you see eggs later on a little easier..

I don't know why the books don't warn new beekeepers... comb changes color over time because of brood rearing and traffic. The brood comb will soon be black.
