I live in northeast mississippi . This year I'm planning to try raising a few queens for the first time. My mentor has talked to me about making the hive queen less and the other steps to queen rearing. My question is if it is time to start the process by making my hive queenless, or do I need to wait a little while. I have some capped drone brood in the hives but do not want to start to early. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

queen rearing and honey production are not always things that go together,, you need to decide if you want a large honey crop or more splits this year
