I am new to beekeeping. Installed two packages about 3 weeks ago. The workers are drawing comb out nicely on the foundation I provided, however, they seem to be ignoring three of the outside frames on one side of the deep they are in. This is the same in both hives. Both queens are doing a good job laying....there is a bunch of capped and uncapped brood in a nice pattern on the center frames. I am feeding them 1:1 directly on the top of the frames from a upside down jar in an empty deep....all covered with an inner cover then telescoping cover. Today I took a peek and they are starting to build comb straight up from the frames with the brood....which I scraped off. Does this mean they need another deep full of foundation? If so, should I still continue to feed 1:1? Or should I move some of the undrawn frames closer to the middle of the deep and some of the drawn to the outside? I'm not sure what my next move should be. Any suggestions?
