haha-- sounds like you are off to a good start, the wax you see on the top is normal - they will do that just cuz they can - but you want to wait until they have 7-9 frames drawn out and to do this you can (after they have 5-6) swap the outside most frames that are drawn with the undrawn frames - this will help you get them all drawn out

if you put on the second box too early they will move up and not fill up the boxes -
dont put on a second box and move frames up just yet - you want to wait until you have a population that can cover the frames - if you put bood up and have brood down also they might not cover it and they will be chilled

just keep feeding and rotating frames - but watch that they dont become honey bound - if it looks like they have more honey capped then there is open cells - they its time to move things around and up with a second box - otherwise they will swarm with a small population and both swarm and parent hive might not make it
