I have two hives and last week when I inspected them I could only find a queen in one of the hives (hive A) in both hives there was little to no brood or larvae and no eggs but plenty of queen cells. Today I inspected and found a queen in both hives but still no eggs or larvae I understand that it will probably be about three weeks before the new queens start to lay? How do I know if they have been mated or not though? Im pretty sure none of this would have happened if I had been able to check on them more often but Ive been working seven days a week since November and have had very little time for my lady friends. Should I wait and see what happens with these two queens or should I see about getting a couple frames from another beek with brood on them?
