·A fellow beekeeper here in Liberty Mo wants to sell some of his equipment. He's got medium super frames with drawn comb for sale at $18 each. Sad. I wanted to buy a set, but not for $180. Do you think this is a fair market price?
what's a fair price for drawn comb?

When you can buy a new super for $6 (Western Bee supply) and one with frames for $12 (same) it's not worth paying any more than half that price for used. Drawn comb is a nice thing to have, but I can buy fully drawn permanant plastic comb (PermaComb) for $3.50 a comb in quantities of 10. And the wax moths and the small hive beetles can't touch it. In large quantities I can get it for $3 a comb. And I thought THAT was expensive but worth it. I wouldn't pay any more than those prices for wax that the moths will likely devastate anyway.

In the past I have bought equipment at auctions, sales, through clubs, etc. I always said I would never buy anything for more than half price. And that would have to be in excellent condition. Within the past year or so, bee supplies on the used market has been ridiculous. 80%-90%-and full price just to save on shipping. The bargains are out there but not like they use to.
I wish for the day I bought three pickup loads of supers and hive bodies for 22 dollars. I wish for the days I could buy at 25 cents on the dollar. I was at sales when it was just me and another fellow and we knew what each wanted and "pooled" our efforts. Now most auctions I have 5-10 beekeepers, all beginners, and its not worth the time to attend the sale on a Saturday.

I just bought two van loads of old bee equipment and a small trailer load for $200. Quite a few boxes, lids, stands including a couple of pollen traps that were new in the box and a stack of old American Bee Journals (which I already had). But some of them are quite a mess and some are quite nice. The mice had really messed some of them up.
Old-timers who had equipment stored in the garage for years and remember that used equipment at one time didn't go for more than a pittance, those I like to deal with.
Those who think 190 dollars for a 200 dollar item is a bargain, because they save me tax or shipping, I stay away from. The deals like M.Bush just got, are out there. Just harder to find.
