had 2 queenless hives. did some frame swaps but never seen nothing happen. got 2 queens last night. went out this afternoon and one of the hives absconded and the other hive must've had a virgin out on a mating flight when I checked last week, cause there is one in there now. none of my hives are strong enough to do splits. will beeks sell frames of bees to make nucs? or should I try to sell the queens? I would rather have 2 more hives . In the hive that has a new queen there is no capped brood but the frames are covered pretty good with bees. should there still be nurse bees too care for the new queen and eggs? or do I need to try and steal a frame from another?

when she starts laying some of the field bees will revert to ther roll of nurse bees, now remember, they will be old for nurse bees, so watch the population. If it seems to start dropping low, steal some bees and add them. wouldn't hurt to do it if your others can spare them, though.
