Hey All,

I have honey bound hives and went in today and created room by swapping out some frames in the brood boxes. Over winter I treated these same boxes with Apivar strips for Varoa. I'm guessing since these strips were in the same boxes as the honey I just pulled, I should scrap the frames and dump the honey, right? Apivar's a pesticide and I'm guessing I shouldn't be putting this honey in my body or anyone else's. Just curious to get thoughts on this. I want to be safe here...

I'd freeze them for a couple of days and put them in storage for later use, if they go lite in the summer, or you start nucs/another hive, they would be a good resource.

IF you "Were" going to leave it for the bees to winter on, did you not pre decide to feed it to bees, in that case using it for splits and winter feed would still be ok, as honey does not readily spoil.

concur on read the label, I have not used Apivar so I cannot read mine and advise.
