My 3 hives died off this winter and I pulled all the frames with honey and drawn comb and stored away so they would not be robbed by feral bees. My 3lb packages are coming April 28th. What order should I put the honey and drawn comb in the Hive bodies ( I have 2 deep supers) when adding the bees. I have @ 20 super frames full with honey and 20 with comb and with Honey around the corners. I actually had a dream last night that posed this question. :s I never even thought of it until this dream. Very weird :D

Thanks
Eileen

I would put 2 frames of honey on each side (so 4 frames total), and 6 comb in the middle. See if there is pollen in any of the empty combs, and use those. I think this is one of those questions that does not have an exact answer, but I would want at least 4 frames of empty comb, but then you would have to be ready to add another box quickly. Make sure you reduce the entrance to very small to help avoid robbing.
