On the drawer under the scr.bb I saw these, does anyone know what they are? 2716F78E-C498-4A70-829F-CC0BE7422088.jpg

I agree it looks like grass seed. Now you need to figure out how it got there.
If you don't have tall grass that could drop seed onto your bb then you may need to look for rodents making a home in your colony.

Thanks, never thought of that. It’s not grass seed but maybe another type of seed; out of 18 hives that have drawers that’s the only one that has it. Its actually hollow. Thanks. This hive was bothered by a shrew over the Winter, so maybe it’s back.

Deb, I have found flower petals on my screened bottom boards. The bees bring back some crazy things.

They look like the bracts that surround a bud. When the bud breaks, they get shed. Could they have blown into the pan?

No, they couldn’t have blown in with this type of drawer. They are stiff, like a soft shell, and hollowed out. They aren’t small like grass seed, maybe ½ inch long

Grass seeds come in a lot of different sizes. Corn has maybe the biggest seed cluster in the family -- but I am not sure about that. A lot of grass seeds have a husk. If the actual seed is gone the husk will be hollow.

How are you Mike?
doing just fine, never knew what I did normally people called social isolation. Hope you all are doing fine? Did get rid of all my hives this spring, got to get some replacement knees, but the people I gave the majority to, let me help out :applause:

I had heard that; will you start up again eventually? And thankfully the knee replacement recovery is doable. New knees, I might be there sooner than I think!
As for social distance not much different for me except I do miss Church, and I REALLY miss going out to eat!
