No, they couldn’t have blown in with this type of drawer. They are stiff, like a soft shell, and hollowed out. They aren’t small like grass seed, maybe ½ inch longThey look like the bracts that surround a bud. When the bud breaks, they get shed. Could they have blown into the pan?

I know it’s that pesky shrew, it just likes that hive for some reason; another mouse trap is going out. How are you Mike?you must have pack rat bees
Grass seeds come in a lot of different sizes. Corn has maybe the biggest seed cluster in the family -- but I am not sure about that. A lot of grass seeds have a husk. If the actual seed is gone the husk will be hollow. No, they couldn’t have blown in with this type of drawer. They are stiff, like a soft shell, and hollowed out. I had heard that; will you start up again eventually? And thankfully the knee replacement recovery is doable.
