What happened to my 1:1 sugar syrup? I went to check on my hives this afternoon and found a solid sugar crust across the top of the syrup. It basically was solidifying.

What gives?

I dumped it all out, washed them out with hot water only to dissolve the sugar and reset them.

The other two feeders with the same syrup were doing just fine...no granulation.

super-saturated solution - if there was a crystal it solidifies rapidly, that is how we made rock gardens as kids with salt solutions, add hot water and shake it will dissolve!
