Thought the beginners would like to see this. First time seeing a swarm myself. Sorry if I turned the camera around half way though, I didn't realize it would turn out that way

Well, that was cool!
Thanks.
It's late and my computer's sound is attached to the deck speakers so I had the sound off, but I imagine the noise was deafening.
That looks like a gorgeous primary swarm....and they landed low! Tell me you shook 'em!!!

Don't worry, they are all sitting snug as bugs in their new hive. I have the feeder on them now. Last years swarm in Milwaukee was early july as well and they still haven't fully recovered, but they did survive the winter. Since I haven't seen any indication of goldenrod yet I assume they will be able to build up alright. I checked my existing hives... these were not mine :D
Nice video. Thanks for sharing it.
+1
Nice video, and congrats on grabbing the swarm! My hive swarmed yesterday, but only traveled about 20 feet or so, and landed in a young, short tree, so I shook them into a hive box and now have two. SO happy that we happened to be there when they swarmed!
