Its only 59 degrees and its been raining all day. Its still ever so slightly raining. I thought maybe rain was getting in and they are blocking it? Or they were attacked by something today? Maybe...its pre-swarming behavior?
I have a very productive hive that is doing exactly the same thing today.
High humidity, intermittent rain, and generally cloudy day. Some are flying, most seem to be on strike. They'll get restless tomorrow!
I'm not sure of the cause, but I think they might be overdoing it for the water drink. I think they may be intentionally plugging up the entrance for brood temp? I'm having trouble adding the newest pic so
I stole one of my moms plastic cutting boards and put it on the top to move rain drips further down. They are really getting soaked. They are also my most productive package this year...which isn't saying that much... but still, a "healthy" hive.
