I've read the threads and studies about small cell foundation versus "regular" foundation versus no foundation at all.

Has anyone evaluated using just sheets of smooth beeswax as a foundation, allowing the bees to build whatever cell size they want/need ? Kind of a compromise between celled foundations and no foundation at all, it would seem.
