Again, I am a new beekeeper, but I wanted some advice on what the warning signs are when I look in the hive. I recently had a swarm and would like to minimize that possibility if possible. I have two hives, and on what was my weaker hive I put another super on tonite. I put the first super on about three weeks ago. I am concerned about overcrowding leading to a swarm. They haven't filled the 1st super, but I did not want to take any chances. I went in this hive's brood box tonite just to see what is going on. Didn't spot the queen, but there were a lot of bees in there and I am not the best at spotting the queen. I saw a little bit of larvae, but did not spot any freshly laid eggs(could be my bad eyes). i am probably overreacting since I recently had a swarm, but I would like to hear what the warning signs are, and also what the good signs are.

Thanks for any advice.
