Hi all! I am a female disabled Veteran that had bees in the past until a back injury. Am starting up again with vertical and horizontal hives. I'm looking forward to the beautiful world of bees once again. So exciting! Thank you for allowing me to join.

Welcome. Bees are exciting and frustrating. If you had bees a long time ago, make sure you are familiar with the new diseases and problems we have today. Varroa, Nosema cerana, etc. Still a fun hobby but does require more work than in the past to be successful.

I sincerely hope you are able to find a hive configuration that suits your needs, and thankfully bees seem to be fairly accommodating of various configurations.

Hopefully you will have time to check-out the 'Top Bar and Horizontal Hive' sub-forum on here and get some experienced feedback on the advantages and limitations of the various approaches out there.
