The stuff Walmart is selling is from the early days and mites quickly became resistant to the chemicals ,also they were oil based and accumulated in the brood combs and eventually harmed the larvae and young bees. However I think a shot of the stuff will still kill some mites but can not be relied upon also you dont want that stuff in your brood combs.
