I use a two part epoxy in my mesquite woodworking that is food safe once cured.. Has anyone used epoxy or something similar to fill the voids in plastic frames that hive beetles enjoy so much?

Nope, but it sounds like an interesting option. Epoxy is a cure all for many things, once it hardens there is no breaking it loose most times. Slick glass like surface is better than plastic since there is no variation in the surface like plastic. I don't personally use plastic frames, i like my wooden ones, but i use RiteCell foundation for now. The bees glue down everything with a crack on my frames so i don't really worry too much with SHB having places to lay in them. If you decide to epoxy the bars up, let us know how it works out for you.
