I have never tried into a full hive, but into a mating hive, Yes dozens of times.

I always allow my queens to emerge in the incubator( yes I know it is easier to put cells into mating hives), this way I know that I am starting with a queen, and not cell that did not produce a viable queen.

The workers are more accepting than I am. I would rather know she lays good brood patterns and survived her mating flight. In Hillsborough County, Fllorida Africanized can be a problem due to the ports. the ships bring in some mean genes!
