All,

Friday, I went to a cutout call that turned out to be a deadout that didn't make it through the winter. Is it worth cutting and banding this empty comb into frames for later use? Is it an advantage for splits, or is it more difficult to fix up this old comb?

These bees were not sprayed and appeared to have starved.

Depends if it is easy. The comb can be useful but only if it is in good shape. If it is a difficult removal with a lot of repair, then no. Unless you are going to charge them. What I would weigh is can the entrances easily be sealed as it will be at risk for recolonization if the comb is left in place.
