Ten feet in front of two nucs I got home four weeks ago:scratch:. Not marked like my queens (were, anyhow). Last week I saw no queen cells in either hive but really didn't spend a lot of time looking since the brood pattern was good. She's alone, it's going to get dark soon, any suggestions?

How healthy does she look? If she is active, put her in a little cage (make one out of #8 hardware cloth or window screen) with a drop of honey on one end. She will need one drop of water a day. She would need a few attendants (some young nurse bees). Keep her in a shady place. Make up a queenless nuc and put her in. Voila the beginning of an overwintered nuc. Good luck.

Grabbed a nuc box and went to scoop her up, she's gone. So, I guess I go frame by frame through my hives Saturday to see if I have queens...:waiting:
