Have one hive with queen doing well and a second that the queen and most have abandoned no brood, no queen cells. I have read here about putting one weak hive on top of the other with a queen excluder between them and thought I might give that a try with a new queen for the queenless hive. Instead of a top entrance let them introduce themselves with the newspaper and hope that they share foragers, etc. to speedup the recovery of the queenless now queenrite hive.
Is this worth a try, stupid idea, waste of time or should I just combine the two hives with no new queen addition?
