Hi All,
I had one have last year. Overwintered sucessfully but last week discovered it has varroa mites. I am currently treating (4th day) with Apistan. Yesterday I installed 3 packages of bees in the same yard. Should I be concerned about the mites infesting my 3 new hives....or not sweat it until this fall?

Thanks,
Chris

If your bees are Russians, or any of the other "survivor stock", and the breeder didn't treat, you don't have to treat. Otherwise, yes, you must treat per recommendations. I have mites, and do not treat. It all depends on the bees you have.
