To every thing there is a season

Timing is everything. With apologies to King Solomon...

To every thing in beekeeping there is a season, and a time to every purpose in the beeyard:

A time to split, and a time to combine

A time to compress, and a time to expand

A time to dispose of a queen, and a time to raise a queen

A time to feed, and a time to let them forage

A time to reduce the entrance, and a time to enlarge the entrance

A time to do cleanup in the hive, and a time to let the bees cleanup the hive

A time to inspect, and a time to look at the clouds and leave them alone

A time to smoke, and a time to refrain from smoking

A time to harvest, and a time to leave them stores

A time to put them to bed for the winter, and a time to get things going in the spring

A time to trust them, and a time to not trust them

A time to mow, and a time to refrain from mowing

A time to plant flowers, and a time to pick flowers

A time to stay, and a time to run

A time to dig deeper in the hive, and a time to close up and go home.

I like it!
Nice Michael.

I'll add:
A time to count your blessings and a time to wonder what you've gotten yourself into

A time to post your opinion and a time you wish you hadn't.
A time to post your opinion and a time you wish you hadn't.
Boy, ain't that the truth!

:D

I was wondering why I had been so busy lately. I Think I did them all. yesterday in fact. Okay may I missed a few.
There is a time for everything under heaven. Thank heaven its Spring! :)

I can see using your 'Times' in a bee class Michael.
Anyone who can handle bees for a season and does not see the hand of GOD is just plain silly. Thanks Mr. Bush for restating the obvious. I often don't have time to stop and see it. :<]
I'll bite.

Why does it seem as though someone always does that?

Nicely edited Micheal.
It is amazing how close you will need to be with correct timing, or your results can be very costly for the bees and beek.

You are telling that to a guy with 43978 posts?
 way to go michael. :)

That was directed at my experiences...Mr. Bush already knows this, I am quite sure :)

I subscribe to this. It's obvious that the bees are a great gift given to us by God. They offer a glimpse of the Paradise.

....a time to dream and make plans and a time to fall back to earth
Well said Michael. Thanks for your helpful posts and sharing of knowledge on this site.:applause:
.......AND that old gambler was right:-

"You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run."

Probably applies to beekeeping as well.
So true!!! But the knowing when the time is...there's the rub!! :) Thanks for this.
So with that, can we also say that if time is of the essence we need to know essence.

No doubt about that, Lauri.

Great post Michael!

Every new season of beekeeping I add into my Good Timing column, less in Bad Timing column.
I attribute much of it to that I keep coming back...here. It works.

I think you wish now you hadn't posted this Ollie!
