I have some queens hatching out of nucs soon. After the queens hatches how long will it take her to begin mating and when can i expect to see my first eggs while keeping in mind that they all have drawn out comb.
I have found that it can take three weeks, but most of the time it's just within two weeks I see eggs started. I've never seen eggs in just one weeks time from emergence, but by the second week, usually she is laying. Occasionally it will take a little longer, and by three weeks if I see no eggs, I start the queen process over.
From emergence to first eggs will be 12 to 14 days if she had good mating weather. Longer if weather was bad and she had to wait for her mating flights.
