This is our second year at bee management. We had our first swarm experience on May 1. This swarm came from hive 1 of 3. We captured the swarm and put them in a new ten frame deep. We had a second swarm from a hive number 2 of 3 on May 4. We placed them in a new ten frame deep, atop the first swarm deep, with a newspaper split. We had a third swarm from hive number 3 of 3 on May 5. As I am typing this, that swarm is currently housed in a 5 frame deep styrofoam NUC box, and is pretty full!

My dilemma - what do I do with the swarm # 3 bees that are currently residing in the Nuc box. I have no other empty deep bodies at this time, and I am not looking to add a fifth hive.

you can pinch the queen and recombine....but they were crowded already and swarmed for a reason....they need more room. OR make a new friend of someone close by who may want a swarm!
