It's been a tough Winter, not just the weather. What with remodeling our new-to-us place and health issues in the family, I have all but neglected my hives this Winter. I got out to the woods to check things out and found all 5 hives alive and doing well. What a relief! Got some patties and sugar on. Now if we can just get them through the weekend.

That's good that they lived. I can't believe all five of mine have survived the winter, we have had an awful one here where I live with temperatures quite often below -20 C (-4 F) in the day and below -30 C (-20 F) at night. Were finally starting to get some above freezing temperatures here. If you're giving them food I'm sure they'll get through it, I'm going to check if mine need any today.

I'm happy for your good fortune. I've found the less I fuss, the better they do and conclude bees are better keepers than beekeepers.
