In case you can't or don't want to get the paper, the bottom line is the

inert ingredients used in many pesticide formulations are being found to be as deadly or more

deadly to bees then the active pesticide ingredient; some of the inert ingredients are surfactants, found in many non-agricultural, household products.


Bees = Canaries in coal mine?

they should stop calling it pesticide it don't just kill pests. poisen is nonselective and that also includes herbicides and fungicides.

If they stopped calling it that, they would have to revert to calling it what it is "Poisen" and then everyone that uses the stuff would have to think a little and read before using it all the time. Calling it a pesticide creates a general "it's ok it won't hurt us" type of mindset to those that use it.

probably part of the original marketing strategy
