Just want to thank you Don for the great videos. Been beekeeping for 10 years and never thought I could raise my own queens. You make it so easy.:applause::applause::applause::applause:

Looooove watching his videos!
Yep. I greatly appreciate them, too. All the beeks who do videos and post voluminous information make it so I can start beekeeping in the middle of nowhere without a mentor. My dad kept bees and I was always at his heels, but doing it on my own without his input is a very different thing. He's been gone for over thirty years, so I can't just call him up and ask, "Hey, Dad - what are the bees doing when they ...?" The beekeepers who have posted all this information are a really good stand-in for him.

He's fun in real life if you get a chance to visit North Georgia.
I'm due for vacation at work ... To butter him up if I get so lucky, should I bring tomatoes from the garden and pecans from my pecan bottom, or something with a bigger kick, like a six-pack of Lone Star?

Cash is the best butter
I had no mentor except Beesource and all of the great beeks who helped me when I first started. The videos are like going to school....makes it so easy.
If you ever get a chance to go meet up with Don TFBM - it will be worth your time and effort. I went down last november and spoke with him. Loved every min of the time spent there.
I've seen his videos and have witnessed how he treated one of my buddies who bought queens from him here in California.
Sorry, not a fan.

The guy I took on as a mentor reminds me of the fat bee man, right when you think you know it all he sets you in your place. very rough around the edges but knows a lot about beekeeping! All the beeks I know are a little "different" anyway including myself, if you can't take a little criticism or someone yelling at you ounce in a while I guess you would feel the way you do. if I'm learning from someone I can take a little scolding (kind of reminds me of my dad when I was a kid). TFBM does things the same way I do, I really like his videos.

Criticism had nothing to do with it. He wouldn't reimburse him on some dead queens. Don finally did after a long battle.

I guess I spoke out of turn, you did say "treated him" so I took it wrong, sorry.
