A homeowner called me with a "swarm" that needed removing, and sent the following photos from her horse tack closet:

So, it is a swarm or a colony? The answer is below:

Looks like a swarm but I wouldnt be surprised one bit if they have established residence and started building comb right there.

There's a little bit of comb visible in the corner, and here's a lovely lady bringing in pollen!

It turned out to be a very modest cutout. There were a few spades of fresh comb, about the size of my hand, totally less than one deep frame.

Based on the state of the wet brood I saw, I think they'd been there about a week:
