Night time beekeeping - we have all been there, along with winter beekeeping, beekeeping in the rain, and other such wonderful times. My first experience with bees was hiving a package at dark. Only one sting.. not bad.
Seriously, it can be done, but suit up well and remember the bees will be drawn to the light if you are using a flashlight, etc.
Set the hive body underneath the swarm with the bottom board and cover in place. Put a bright flashlight in front of the hive entrance. Shake swarm off branch in front of hive. Go back the next evening at dark and pick up your hive of bees and your dead flashlight.
