Besides overcrowding and reproductive what are some other reasons for swarms and would leaving the entrance reducers on cause a swarm?

Think of a hive of bees as an organism (rather than a group of individual bees). Once an organism (pretty much any animal) has adequate food, what is next on the agenda? Well, duh, reproduction! :)

And swarming is just the organism/colony way of reproduction, i.e. split the organism into two (or more) parts, and its off to the races!
:lookout:

I've been busy taking care of my dad that I haven't done my bees and have left the sugar board and hive entrance reducers on until today.
