Message received at 11 a.m. today:

Are you aware of any beekeepers in the Killeen-Fort Hood area that might be interested in capturing honey bees. We have a large honey bee hive that started forming on one of the trees on the edge of our long-term parking lot, adjacent the parking lot managers booth/office. It’s currently about 18 inches tall and 6-8 inches wide as it’s wrapping itself around a small tree with about a 4 inch trunk. I would rather have a beekeeper have access than an exterminator, who will only want to kill them.
Thanks in advance for your attention in this matter.

Monitor them to make sure they don't make a home in the engine or propeller nose cone/spinner. They make lovely homes until they are started up.

The one beekeeper that I met in the Killeen area while I was stationed at Ft. Hood left Copperas Cove years ago. Sorry.

These folks might be able to help you find one.

If they arent bothering anyone too much let them bee and they will probably move on in a day or 2. Thanks for contacting the site and saving the bee's!!!
