As I was inspecting the other day(I have both deeps and mediums for hive bodies in my yard) I starting thinking. Has there ever been a beekeeper that made and used a double stack size of deeps for a hive body? One large box that would be the equivalent of 2 deeps stacked on top of each other. There would be 10 really long (deep) frames. Would this idea work? There would be no interruption with space between boxes. Thinking in nature, do bees only draw comb done so far??? Thanks, juzzer

They will draw combs that big in nature, so I am sure it would work. But the box would require two people to move when full and the frames would be awkward.

But I love anything experimental so I say go for it and post pictures.
