Is an Illinois super the same as a Langstroth? If not what's the difference?

That depends on what you mean by "a Langstroth"

A "Langstroth deep" is 9 5/8". A "Dadant Deep" is 11 5/8". An "Illinois" (medium) is 6 5/8". But they are all 19 7/8" long by 16 1/4" wide.

In Gen a standard Langstroth is any box 19 7/8" long and 16 1/4" wide but Deep/med/shallows vary in height. A Illinois is also called a medium 19 7/8x 16 1/4 x 6 5/8 as MB said.
