Someone at the meeting last night mentioned seeing a very large but worker shaped bee in their package hive in the last few days. After questioning he seemed confident that it was not a drone. Another older gentleman replied that at a meeting the night before and a couple of counties over, a man had mentioned the same thing and that someone called them super bees. Said they were blown into the Gulf of Mexico from ?where in a storm.

Anyone on here have more information on this?

Could a worker bee hatching out in a drone cell with lots to eat ... presto Bat bee, aqua bee, iron bee..no super bee.... or could have just been a drone.

really? are you sure they weren't just small unmated queens. They can turn up in packages.
