Has anyone ever tried planting sugar beets for bees? Do they have a flower? Just thinking if they do have a flower it might be a good bee planting crop. I am just a hobby keeper so not looking for commercial use. Thanks for your answers .

Sugar beets are massive things, there are quite a few fields and a large processing plant in my dads hometown of Fremont, Oh. I would plant something else like clover, as a weed its everywhere here and the bees love it. Generally gardens on your property are insignificant contribution to their overall forage and not really worth the time. I would plant gardens for pleasure, what you enjoy, not necessarily whats bee friendly or not.
