Seeing a strong Ornamental Holly flow here in NC this year. The wild holly trees look like they will pop next week. My strong hives have filled up their first super now and working on second and third super. The smell of nectar curing in the evening is one of my favorite parts of this wonderful hobby. Tulip Poplar is less then three weeks away
Yea, I'm seeing the same thing just up the road. It's a real promising start to the season! Plus, the hollies make a great tasting very light honey. The rain forecasted for Thursday night will kepp things flowing!
My holly tree has blooms today in Northern VA about 5 hours north of Raleigh area.
I am having the worst allergy attacks I have had in many years, and it is making me wonder if all of the moisture and snow we had in the South East this year is contributing to more pollen, richer pollen, etc. I have no idea, just putting the concept out there.
The oaks are blooming too. http://www.pollen.com and put in your zip to see what is blooming.
