Do strawberries have enough nectar to make a good honey crop.
I have the opportunity to pollinate about 25000 strawberry plants and want the nectar for honey of coarse. But didn't want to put them on it if it isn't good for the bees, ie: pollen and nectar.

Hey Mike,
Most of my hives are kept at various truck farms (produce farms). One of the farms grows strawberries. They grow close to 100 acres of berries and along with 400 additional acres of other produce. The berries are always the first to bloom in the spring on the farm and the bees work them like crazy. It makes for some really good honey too. The berries produce a lot of pollen and nector. The only problem in my opinion is the strawberry crop doesnt last long enough. It's about three months from the time of the first bloom to where they no longer produce fruit. Then again it may just be a little disapointment of the fact after the berries are finished, I can't pick and eat strawberries while I'm checking my hives.

There is not a lot of excess honey from strawberries, most of it is comsumed to grow the hives, they are good for that,
