Which type of bee makes the sticky, gooey propolis? I have 10 hives and two of them make this stuff. The others make less and it is much harder like typical Italians. My bees have swarmed often, so I have a lot of mutts out there. Jim
I have broken a few frame ends this spring with the propolis that 3 of my hives made. That's some tough stuff. I ate a big chunk of it. Didn't taste too bad.
I bought two of those hives as nucs last year from the same guy and requeened the other hive with one of his queens. They are no name bees.
