how late in the season can you start a new hive from brood frames and a new queen . i have a friend who will give me some frames of brood and nurse bees to start a new colony . i also want to split my existing colony . how late in the season can i do this

I have started them as late as the end of July. I went with 3 frames of brood, and 2 frames of honey/pollen.
