I know this has probably been covered to exhaustion but dont have all day to scan old threads. ..either way i started last spring with 2 packages, we lost 1 hive during the winter and i would like to make a split to prevent swarming but not exactly sure how or what to do i would appreciate any and all help

Easiest thing to do us take old quenn frame of honey/pollen and bees and 3 frames of brood and bees put in another box and let old hive raise new one or buy a mated queen and put in original hive
